JOY COMETH IN THE MORNING by Funnie.
Someone was curled up on one of the pews fast asleep. The clothes the person had on were dirty and tattered, she was a young girl between the ages of eighteen and twenty. She was a very pitiful sight to behold, but she slept with peace radiating on her face. she was beautiful, she had long black hair and her face was beautifully shaped too.
Tapping the girl lightly on her shoulder, she opened her large brown dreamy eyes.
"Are you alright?" asked the reverend.
"Can you talk?" he asked again.
The girl gave a little moan and shutting her eyes, she collapsed.
She felt pain all over as she woke up. She opened her eyes and the sun rays from the window shone into her eyes, the place did not look familiar to her. The room was painted white, there were white bed spreads on the bed she laid on. An air conditioner unit hummed lazily somewhere in the room and soft music was coming from a radio on the bedside table.
Tossing off the blanket covering her, she sat up wondering where she was. The door opened, and an elderly woman popped her head inside the room.
"How are you today?" she asked smiling as she came inside the room.
"Not good, I feel pain all over my body" the girl said in a hoarse voice.
"It’s okay, at least you are awake now, that is a good thing. You passed out two days ago, you were very tired when my husband say you lying helplessly in the church." She continued, still smiling and feeling for her temperature at intervals.
Thoughts began to race through her mind as she lay in bed looking at the woman smiling at her.
"You need to go take a bath now, so u can eat and have some strength in you." said the woman.
The woman came in some minutes later, holding some towels and some clothes.
